Friday Fictioneers is a complexity of writers in various genre from across the world doing what they do best. Visit the various sites and read for yourself. All the information is available on Rochelle Wisoff-Fields‘ site: the how-to and everything. This week’s photo prompt is courtesy el appleby who hold copyright. All writers hold copyright of their own material. Other stories can be found by following the blue frog creature on Rochelle’s site.
Genre: General fiction.

The demigod sat down and waited. Ah! At last the sobs subsided, the little body still shuddering. When he thought the creature could bear to be touched he tentatively, gently, extended his trunk to sooth the heap of misery. It took a long time.
Awareness intruded on this thing, this bit of existence. It heaved. But no, the effort was too much. Patience. Eyes opened, closed. A sigh welled up, then another. Ah! The eyes stayed open, roamed, then focussed. It started and stared. Then stared some more.
Ganesha withdrew his trunk and waited. Inner laughter shuddered his whole being.
