High Society – for Dverse
11July 30, 2014 by petrujviljoen
rat face grinning
catatonic staring
nerve ends nibbled
high so cry deafening
scar tissue rupture
rabid clawing at my being
zealous formulation
invocation negation
abrogation of sensibility
crowd parts
crumbled coat on the floor
beau monde feasted
An event where I guess I would feel like the ugly duckling
Oh yes! being in a high society event can be this nerve-wracking. Your piece is very descriptive. 🙂
Thanks Imelda
Ah, so you don’t like these events either:)
Indeed not!
ha. def why i am not high society….smiles…my nerve endings would def be nibbled…abrogation is a cool word as well…i dont think too many -tions…which is awful close to shun…and fits…ha
Didn’t think of shun! I almost went gnawed, but then, it is high society and they do take their time and do things daintily don’t they?
When you get to the /scar tissue rupture/, things are getting critical; very original path to defining one perspective on getting high; or being high while writing; ala Ginsberg.
I still marvel at Howl. Do you know who Sinclair Beiles was? He was kind of involved with the Beats although people don’t really acknowledge him as one. I loved his Sacred Fix the best I think.
love all the ‘ation’s’ . . . great write.
Too many?
