earth – a haibun

So small, so old and not as round as we’d like to think, nearing the used up date at a frightening speed as it hurls itself around the blistering sun; itself in decline. This ending – by the hand of man (it’s a fact). Yes, earth is dying by the hand of man; the gender-codified being who thinks it’s the universe. Would it have been different under a matriarchy? I wonder. And how will we now know?

I have to believe that there is more life out there than we as humans know.
And just perhaps there is one that will sustain what life there is here once our little corner of the universe is in shadow.
(I hope to get to last weeks verses this week… I was away. I too did a haibun for this prompt.)
Hi Jules. Thanks. I’ll hop over later.
It is very sad to see how we have neglected things on this planet! It is amazing to me how people can simply toss their trash right out the window and never give it a thought!
Great Haiku!
Dwight
Kerbed dreams is great!
Yes, it would have. Just saying. Love what you did here. Very succinct and yet opens a door to a lot of thinking.

#Haiku Happenings #10: Petru’s latest #haibun for my current #haikai challenge!
I wish you hadn’t said that, because I know you’re right. That’s a great haiku 🙂
