Blessings are Fishes

Cat’s tail whips into the air
Human isn’t being fair!
Cat’s tail slashes with each mew
Human is sitting in her preacher pew!
There’s no fish in my food!
And that ain’t any good!
The chicken livers are dry!
Can’t you even try?
Human explains, make excuses
Placates – it’s not that she refuses
She simply hasn’t got
Promise! It isn’t a plot!
Cat stomps off
Life here is rough
Oye, Dame Densch
I’m only a mensch

Poor cat. I wonder if my dogs have similar thoughts. Thank you for your comment. Point well taken. Apologies. Mine was inappropriate.
Funny, no fish, however someone is having a “barnie na nah!”
🙂
Purrrfectly finicky cat!
She should be counting her blessings instead of complaining!
Exactly…but cats feel entitled 😉
I’m also a cat, and also feel entitled to not be bullied at least!
Our cat is 16, and he needs “senior food” or he throws up–making him mostly an outside critter these days. A bunch of us at one time wrote “dog poems’–thus becoming dog poets.
She throws up to let me know she doesn’t like her food – and get chased outside because of it!
I have one of those critters myself…always the diva!
Mine is such a good actress she should be on the stage!
Smart kitty. Love it. 🙂
Haha! I owned that cat! Um, two of them… at two different times. Sometimes the blessing of patience and forbearance comes as lessons rather than in a nicely-wrapped package. Fish it is!
Fish it will be.
The cat approves… but won’t let on.
She’s a prime diva this one!
Well hello sassy pants, haha.
She’s THE actress!
The cat rules, smiles !
That must be Charlie!
The one and only! She hissed at a baboon the other day!
Haha, love this cat’s-eye view of the world. Like mine, it mostly revolves around food!
The blessing of having a picky cat who wants fish. I suppose cats are usually blessings.
That’s the way I see it, even if a mixed one at times.
I love cat poems! I will keep cats in mind for a future prompt.
There’s one written by Margaret Atwood that’s my favourite so far. Sorry, don’t have a link handy.
I found two:

It’s the one listed on the Poetry Foundation site that I like so much.
You have captured the feline mind perfectly… love the image of that cat stomping off.. fish or nothing.
I nearly gave her away about her nagging – just can’t though.
Don’t mess with the cat.Bring the fish.
Tomorrow!
Well, that’s cats for you. What did you expect?
Unconditional love and understanding – silly me!
