Phantom opera – not yet,
yet, mystery enough once
you’ve read, or couldn’t,
written script obscure, unknown
from Europe it is
not, there yet found
now stabled at Yale
they should not fail
to grasp the rhythmic
key – to who has wit
the triumphant grin
Dverse Poets hosts the Quadrille prompt every 2nd Monday I think it is. My first attempt.
A bit of background: I’ve been immersed in the mystery of the Voynich Manuscript the last few days while researching artist books. I’ve been aware of this for some time and was newly intrigued.

What a nice poem to peak the taste buds and read more on this mystery. Love it when I learn something new. Thank you!
Glad it raised some interest. Enjoy the jouney!
How interesting and mysterious ~ I will check out the link in your post ~
Thanks for the visit! Hope you enjoy the mystery.
Thank you for that glimpse of mystery… I had never heard of it before.
Fascinating stuff. On a different topic, the following link may be of interest to you and everyone else: http://ericweiskott.com/2015/11/18/phenom-poetics/
Thank you — I will check it out.
A fascinating glimpse of something both mysterious & perplexing; possibly Lumarian or extraterrestrial in origin; cool.
Oh heavens now I have to look up Lumarian! Doubt the extraterrestrial origin but who knows?
Oh, okay, some place like Atlantis. It’s possible! It seems some of the plants in the Voynich Ms has been identified as Mexican.
The Phantom! YES. Now THERE is a slightly creepy grin. Love this take.
Fascinating poem! I love seeing your sketch book!
The pic is not from my sketchbook, it’s from the Voynich Manuscript, an obscure unreadable tome about apparently plants that no one has ever seen in a language no one can read.
Oh! How are you managing?
Been a bit under the weather but coming out of it about now. Hence the time available to sit for hours on the internet researching the mystery of the Voynich Ms. Even considered Atlantis! I can see from your writing you’re doing well – is it true?
Yes. Thank you! I am glad you’re better!
