Carpe Diem – haiku

Carpe Diem Special #74, Alexey Andreyev’s fifth ”morning awakening”- haiku challenge
The one written by Alexey Andreyev:
morning awakening:
among window curtains’ flowers
a blade of gray sky
My take on the idea:
curtains left undrawn
revealed a sleepless night
relieved, first light
Being sleepless and jet lagged in California right now… What a sentiment
Shock to the system, the flight, the weather different, no wonder. Escaping the snow?
Just work I’m afraid…
Oh well. 🙂
I read this just after a night where I tossed and turned for a good portion of it…so I can sure understand this one!
Had them myself so therefore … thanks for reading.
I love this haiku inspired on the one by Alexey. Very nice to see you here frequently.
Thank you! I’m trying to pursue an image and not just tell a story. Not sure I achieved it. Thanks for this forum to put in some practice.
I am glad that you like Carpe Diem.
