Walk Away!

For Dverse. Thanks Bjorn for hosting this.
Sacred Fig / Ficus Religiosa
Walking away from dead old wood
from dried blood on a cross
from pressing the wound
from the wailing and gnashing of teeth
from the threat of hell.
Walking by way
of a manifold path
there are three, there are four there are
eight ways to take (one would need them all)
to sitting,
mindfully meditating,
under a living Bodhi tree.
Fancy…a holy fig!
I know the ficus in various forms, but hadn’t come across this one.
Very much like your tribute to this tree, complete with its connotations.
Thank you, it’s appreciated.
a tree with quite a history… sometimes it’s good though to walk new directions and look at things with new eyes…nice.. and nice to meet you
Thanks for visiting & reading. Nice to meet you too.
Cool write.
Thank you!
I’m with you.. I’d rather meditate under the Bodhi tree than all that gnashing of teeth I grew up with. Makes much more sense.
Indeed.
Ah.. very nice to meet you here Petru.. great you took up the Bodhi tree…
Meditation is a journey I started some time ago and haven’t practiced consistently enough so far. It’s surprising hard work.
dang…that opening stanza sets the tone…the allusions to the cross…to the wound…to the sitting in meditation under the tree…its a cool write…
Dear Brian, thank you for appreciating. It can be a sensitive subject but I prefer to speak my mind.
