I made this watercolour some six weeks ago and didn’t think much of it. It’s not a medium I’m familiar with. I put it where I could see it everyday and I would have to admit it grew on me. It’s certainly a freer mark than the works in oil that I’ve been labouring over so in the last four paintings. Hope this is a breakthrough in mark making, the one aspect of art-making that is as important as composition and value.

Constructive criticism is welcome.

Artist Statement or rationale or why do I do what I do



I make art, I read a lot and I'm now trying to write as well. Otherwise I belong to a cat by the name of Charlie that drives me nuts sometimes and other times makes me melt with love for her.
