Painting

A friend of mine, Lionel Murcott, had an opening of his exhibition at an art gallery in Johannesburg on Sunday. Wish I was there. I think he is an astonishing painter although my work is vastly different to his. He can’t stand the photoreal in which I paint but I don’t care. He is on facebook too.

I’d like to share some of the works he has on exhibition.

All the work is acrylic on paper.

Even though he works with such a broad mark, the portraits resemble the sitter.

The painting in front of the painting is quite a nice device for depth perception.

This one of Helen, a blooming teenager and a formidable artist in her own right.

He accepts commissions.

Hope this brightens up people’s lives ….
